Gain Hands on Experience in STEM

Do you enjoy science class?

YNS offers opportunities for hands-on experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Middle Schoolers

Middle schoolers (grades 6-8 / ages 12 -14) can attend YNS summer camps at campuses throughout Nebraska. These multi-day (commuter or overnight) sessions focus on a science topic and are led by a faculty member and their upper-level students. Camp leaders shape the sessions to help you meet friends and do active learning in science that takes you beyond your usual science classes.

High Schoolers

High schoolers (grades 9-12) can attend YNS summer camps -OR- apply to be a High School Researcher*. YNS High School Camps take place in Nebraska college laboratories with small groups and experiments for hands-on aspects of science with in-depth experiences.

*Each summer a few high school students are chosen for paid positions as High School Researchers: working with science teams at Nebraska campuses. These experiences are ideal for exposure to real-life STEM job experiences, and look great on your college applications.
