Middle School Camp

Rooted in Nebraska

Have you ever wondered why plants are important to Nebraska? Come to the 2nd annual Northeast NE Education Compact Middle School STEM Camp at Northeast Community College to explore and find out the answer to WHY plants play an integral role in our everyday lives.  Tour the Urban Farm, how we feed plants to animals, and learn about how plants play a role in medicine and soil health.  Don’t wait to sign up as last year’s camp filled up quick with only 40 spots.

Everyone is invited to an Open House at Northeast Community College's Agriculture Complex following the camp.  This Open House will include Postsecondary Information, Industry Connections to sessions, Career Exploration, and Student Opportunities for further exploration.

Northeast Community College has become one of the premier rural community colleges in the United States since it was established 47 years ago.

In 1973, Northeast's campus consisted of four new buildings on the northeast edge of Norfolk and several older buildings located in the downtown area. Today, the 205-acre main campus in Norfolk includes over 30 buildings with classroom and lab facilities; library/resource center; a welcome center; student center; an activities center with a gymnasium and theater; residence halls and two apartment buildings for student living; outdoor student activity space; and a farm and an agriculture complex that are located on an additional 566 acres of farmland. The College operates extended campuses in O’Neill, South Sioux City, and West Point and regional offices in Ainsworth and Hartington to better serve residents district-wide.
