Week long Professional Development opportunity focusing on developing Physics Teacher Leaders with Dr. Brad Shadwick of UNL's Department of Physics and Astronomy.

This unique professional development opportunity will train Nebraska teachers on new lab techniques to teach physics principles.   Teachers will be paid a stipend for participation.  Teachers will receive training on Nebraska EPSCoR Physics Mobile Labs, and will also be training other teachers on Saturday, June 24, 2017.  Nebraska EPSCoR will provide suite style housing on campus, and all meals will be provided.

Physics Topics Covered:

  • Distance
  • Velocity
  • Acceleration
  • Vectors
  • Newton's Laws
  • Energy Conservation
  • Momentum Conservation
  • Work-Energy Theorem
  • Data Analysis with Python

This Institute is for experienced, current physics teachers who are eager to explore new ways to teach physics in their classroom.

Opportunities are limited to 12 teachers.  Apply now!

Physics Teacher Workshop- June 24, 2016

One-Day hands-on professional development opportunity exploring fundamental physics concepts.

This workshop is for any teacher that teaches physics principles in their classroom.   Teachers will be trained to use Nebraska EPSCoR Physics Mobile Labs which will be available for use beginning in the fall of 2017.  These mobile labs explore the following principles:

  • Distance
  • Velocity
  • Acceleration
  • Vectors
  • Newton's Laws
  • Energy Conservation
  • Momentum Conservation
  • Work Theorem
  • Data Analysis with Python

You will leave this lab with authentic, hands-on labs to take into your classroom.

Workshop will begin at 9:00AM at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and will finish at 4:30PM.  Lunch and a snack will be provided.   Register now, spots fill quickly!
